Big Creek Campout and Floating the Joe

Hello Troops,

We are a little over a week away from our next adventure.

Quick Details

What: Floating on the St. Joe River

When: Saturday, August 23rd – Sunday August 24th

Where: Big Creek Campground. From St. Maries, Idaho, head East on the St. Joe River Road for 24 miles. Turn Left onto Calder Rd/Elk Pr Rd and cross the bridge into Calder. Turn Right on N. Side Rd and head East for 5 miles. Turn Left onto Big Creek Road and continue 3 miles to the campground. Please note this is North of the CCC campground we used a couple years ago (further up Big Creek Road). It is approximately 2 ½ hours / 95 miles from Spokane.

Fees: $10 per night. We can share sites to lower costs for everyone.

Details: We will be arriving in the morning on Saturday. We will set up camp before lunch. Lunch will be on your own. After lunch, we will carpool down to the launch location at the bridge by Calder. We will float about 8 miles down stream to the next bridge.

After the float, we will return to camp to change, then all drive to St. Maries for the 5pm Vigil Mass at St. Mary Immaculate Parish.

After Mass, we will return to camp for a communal meal.

Sunday morning, we can stay as long as we want for more activities on Big Creek before breaking camp and heading home.
